The commission rates for third party cheque cashing are dependant on three factors:
1. The amount of the cheque
The higher the value of the cheque, the lower the commission percentage charged.
2. How quickly you require the cash.
Whether it be the same day or part now and the rest in a few days time, will affect the rate you are charged.
3. The source of the cheque.
Some companies that we cash lots of cheques for attract a lower rate.
Generally, the commission rates will be between 8% and 3%. To find out the rate applicable to your cheque, simply e-mail an information request, phone or fax. Someone will answer your query as quickly as possible.
Every cheque cashed will also be subject to a £2.00 cheque fee per cheque.
Identification Required
Every time you cash a third party cheque, you are asked to present us with the following identification:
- Any letter or payslip which relates to the third party cheque you want to cash.
- Two recent utility bills or official letter items to your name and residential address.
- Valid signature identification, such as passport, driving license, bank cards, credit cards are all acceptable
- If cashing a council housing cheque, we will also need to see your signed lease agreement from the council.
This is deemed as the minimum identification requirements for third party cheques. We would suggest that, where possible, other items are brought to ensure that we can complete the transaction. Recent items of address are those with are dated no more than 6 weeks prior to the date of transaction. Examples of "official letters" include lawyers letters, council letters, benefit letters and bank statements, which should also be dated no more than 6 weeks prior to the transaction date.
