Change Exchange, what a great and simple idea. The Cheque Shop has been doing change exchange for many years now. Basically it's about turning "Pence into Pounds" or changing your loose change into spendable notes. Most people have some sort of loose change jar in their house, yet they don't look at it as spendable money. Some customers are amazed at the amount they have in their jars, what a great way to save. The service can now be found in many supermarkets and seems to be very popular. Unlike the supermarket machines, The Cheque Shop gives you cash - NOTES - and not money vouchers for your shopping.
You are probably saying, "Why not just take it to the bank?", a very good question. We have found that some banks will charge you for this service, especially if you are not an account holder, but more predominantely we find that people can't bear the embarassment of waiting in a bank queue with a big bag of loose change.
It's very simple and quick, all we ask is that you separate your loose change into separate denominations, for example, all the 1 pence's together, all the 2 pence's together and so on. You don't have to count them, as our weighing machines will do that, but you can if you want.
In a couple of minutes, you'll be away with your notes.
PLEASE NOTE: A small handling charge is applied to the payout you receive, but we think you'll find it to be less than the bank or supermarket, and without any embarassment.
The current fees for this service are as follows:
- 2.00 or 4% of the total value of your change, whichever is greater
The Cheque shop offers this service to it's customers purely as a service, thus the charge made only reflects time taken for the transaction and handling, and charges applied by our bankers.
