1.  How much money can I send from The Cheque Shop?

With The Cheque Shop, you can send as much money as you’d like, although certain security compliance requirements must be met depending on amount sent.

2.  How do I send money?

The sender initiates the transaction by completing a “To Send Money” form and paying the TCS cash to cover the transfer amount plus applicable fees. We then immediately process the transaction.

3. How do I collect money?

To pick up the money, the receiver completes a “To Receive Money” form at any Western Union Agent location and provides proper identification. The agent then pays the transfer amount to the receiver.

4.  What is the Money Transfer service offered?

The money transfer service offered at TCS locations offers the ability to send money using cash to Western Union Agent locations worldwide.

5.  What do I need to send money?

Sending money with the Western Union Money Transfer service location does not require credit cards, debit cards, bank accounts or memberships. Customers receiving money only need a valid form of identification and/or, in some cases, depending on the amount of the transfer, senders may need to furnish identification or other information to meet government requirements.

6. How can I find out if my money transfer has been paid?

Any time after the money transfer has been sent, you can check your Order Status online. All you need is your name and the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) printed on your receipt to verify if the money transfer has been paid.

7. How can I find out if a money transfer is available for me to pick up?

8.  What is considered valid identification to pick up a money transfer?
For UK residents, a passport or driving license with photo is valid. For non-UK residents, a passport, country issued identification or driving license with photos is valid.

Sending Money

£0 – £599 = No ID is required

£600 – £1999 = Photo ID

£1999 + = Photo ID and 1 address item

Receiving Money

£0 – £600 = Photo ID

£600 + = Photo ID and 1 address item

Address ID includes utility bills, tax letters, bank statements and must be dated within the last 8 weeks. On certain occasions, staff may ask for further ID if they feel it is appropriate.
